Major Symposium Guidance for Trainees
We are pleased to offer AAI trainee members who are graduate students or postdoctoral fellows the opportunity to present their research in IMMUNOLOGY2027™ Major Symposia. Speakers will be selected from AAI trainee member-submitted abstracts relevant to the Major Symposium topic areas.
Please use the list of IMMUNOLOGY2027™ Major Symposium topics below as reference for selecting session(s) that best match the topic of your abstract. Your selection will help the Programming Chairs and Major Symposium Chairs identify abstracts that are relevant to each session.
Major Symposia Topics:
- Allergic responses and T2 inflammation
- Computational and systems immunology
- Innate immune sensors/inflammation
- Immune engineering
- Immunopeptidomics, antigen presentation, and immune modulation
- Inborn errors of immunity
- Multifunctional role of B cells in protection and pathology
Before You Submit
Both AAI members and nonmembers are invited to submit abstracts. An AAI account is required to submit an abstract. If you do not already have an AAI account, you will need to create one before accessing the abstract submission system. Please visit https://members.aai.org/ to create an account.
There is no limit to the number of abstracts you can submit, provided each submission represents distinct research. Do not submit multiple versions of the same abstract as duplicate submissions may be rejected.
Abstracts should report original research and should accurately reflect the work and results being presented. Abstracts should not be submitted if the research has already been presented at a national or international meeting unless the abstract includes substantial new findings.
During the submission process you will have the opportunity to indicate your preferred presentation format as a podium presentation or a poster. Your selection indicates your preference but does not guarantee assignment to your preferred presentation format. AAI will determine the final presentation format based on the abstract review and scheduling process.
Submission Fees
During the regular submission period AAI members receive a complimentary regular abstract submission fee. Nonmembers can submit an abstract for the applicable non-refundable nonmember fee of $145.
During the late breaking period AAI members will be required to pay the applicable non-refundable abstract submission fee of $115. Nonmembers can submit an abstract for the applicable non-refundable nonmember fee of $180.
Please Note: Submission rates are based on your membership status at the time of abstract submission. If you join AAI after submitting your abstract, the difference in fees will not be reimbursed. You can join AAI prior to submitting your abstract and the complimentary fee will immediately be available. Please do not use another AAI member’s membership number to receive the complimentary member submission fee. AAI will verify that the submitter’s information corresponds with the membership number provided. If the submitter does not match the member information provided, they will be contacted and given two weeks to either join AAI or pay the applicable nonmember submission fee. If neither action is taken within two weeks, the submission will not be accepted.

- Author names and spelling
- Author order
- Institutional affiliations

AAI will publish author names and affiliations as submitted. Please proofread all information carefully before submitting.
